If you want a vehicle that looks muscular, has great performance, a lot of space inside and is comfortable on the highway, you can’t go wrong with the Chrysler 300. It’s a very popular limousine with a variety of buyers, which means that there are a lot of aftermarket options available. That’s especially true for lighting options.
While the Chrysler 300 does have very good front headlights, especially when ordered with HID headlights (also known as Xenon), there is still room for improvement. You may want full-LED headlights or headlights with LED daytime lights that look much more modern. While the Chrysler 300 does boast impressive front headlights, particularly when equipped with HID (High-Intensity Discharge) or Xenon headlights, there are opportunities to elevate this feature further.
Many drivers may find themselves drawn to the sleek, contemporary aesthetic and enhanced performance of full-LED headlights or those incorporating LED daytime running lights. These options not only modernize the appearance of your vehicle but also offer improved visibility and energy efficiency.

How to find the right headlight bulbs for Chrysler 300?
The easiest way to tell what headlight bulbs your vehicle has is by reading the owner’s manual. That said, we think we can help a bit here, however, for models that are overlapping (2015-2016), it’s best to consult your nearest Chrysler dealer. Other than that, the second generation of Chrysler 300 uses:
- 2011-2015 model year – 9012 bulbs for both low beam and high beam
- 2016-2018 model year – 9005 bulbs for both low beam and high beam
These bulbs can be found in almost every store, gas pump or on the internet. They are pretty inexpensive, but it all depends on the model and manufacturer you choose.
How to upgrade the headlights on the Chrysler 300?
The price you’ll pay for the new halogen bulbs is almost always proportional to the quality you get. Halogen bulbs from more reputable manufacturers shine brighter and last longer, so we definitely recommend them. That said, if you’re only replacing the bulbs on your Chrysler 300, you won’t see much difference in brightness output with halogen bulbs.
A better, or if you want more powerful option are HID bulbs. These shine brighter than halogen bulbs and last for longer. Sure, they are also more expensive, but for owners of Chrysler 300, they are still very affordable. The thing with HID bulbs is that they must be installed together with a conversion kit if your 300 doesn’t already have Xenon lights, but trust us, it’s worth the investment.
LED bulbs are another option in the last few years. They are much more efficient than other types of bulbs, have a brighter output and last for a very long time. However, they don’t work great with existing headlight design, resulting in shorter reach of the light. This means that your headlights will shine brighter, but won’t reach as far as with normal halogen bulbs.
Then there’s the best possible solution – a full headlight assembly. And here we mean aftermarket headlights which not only look much better than the OEM ones, but they are more powerful as well. Currently, there are HID (Xenon) and full-LED models for the Chrysler 300 available, both of which offer improvements on both the lighting and looks front.
Light bulbs replacement guide
Changing the bulbs on your Chrysler 300 can be done by everybody, but if you’re not sure that you can do it, it is recommended that you visit a proper mechanic. If you still want to do it yourself, follow the next few steps:
For the passenger side:
- Remove the plastic dust cover by turning ¼ counterclockwise;
- Turn the bulb ¼ counterclockwise and pull it away from the housing;
- Press the release tab and pull off the power plug;
- Put the new bulb on the power plug and repeat the process in reverse order.
For the driver’s side, you must first remove the airbox by following these steps:
- Remove the three visible screws that hold the cover in place;
- Remove the cover by sliding it from the tabs and by loosening the intake hose clamp;
- Remove the air filter;
- Unscrew the 8mm bolt and completely remove the airbox. Then, you’ll have access to the bulb.
