How to find the right headlight bulbs for Chevrolet Camaro?
Interestingly, choosing the right headlight bulbs for the Camaro is not a straightforward task, as different models come with different sizes. While in the list below will show what kind of a headlight bulb your Camaro has according to the year it was produced, we still recommend asking a mechanic or read the owner’s manual.
- Chevrolet Camaro produced in 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013 comes with a single H13 for low and high-beam headlight bulbs
- Chevrolet Camaro produced in 2014 and 2015 comes with H11 bulb for the low beam and H9 for the high beam
At the end of the day, if you’re still not convinced, you can take your bulbs out and compare them to the new ones.
How to upgrade the headlights on the Camaro?
The easiest way to upgrade the front headlights is to install HID bulbs (also known as Xenon lights). These produce brighter light and last longer than normal bulbs. LED headlight bulbs are also an option, but here things are not as clear. Most of the LED headlight bulbs we’ve tested produce brighter light, but the beam doesn’t reach as far as normal bulbs.
If you want to upgrade your daylights, the best way to do that is by installing add-on LED daytime lights. These are specifically designed to be easily seen in the daytime and can help with better illumination of close spaces in the nighttime, like for example a parking lot. They are also very helpful as fog lights. LED strips serve the same purpose, but they can be adjusted to the lines of the car and make it look better.
If you want the best possible illumination, there are numerous aftermarket headlights available for the Camaro. And with aftermarket headlights, we mean the whole headlight assembly. When choosing new headlights, it’s best to go with reputable manufacturers and models that support either HID bulbs or are designed as full LED headlights. The options are many, and the prices vary a lot, but it’s always worth doing some research and finding the perfect set of headlights for your car.
There are a few things you’ll want to consider when upgrading your Camaro headlights. The first is the overall look of the car. Many aftermarket headlights are designed to give a more aggressive appearance, and if that’s what you’re going for then it’s worth looking into some of the more popular models. Second is the type of bulb used. Most aftermarket headlights support either HID or LED bulbs, so you’ll need to decide which type you want. Third is beam distance. Depending on how you use your Camaro, you may want headlights with a longer or shorter beam distance.
Finally, there’s price. Aftermarket headlights can be expensive, but if you’ve already decided on a set it might be worth going with the most expensive option. After all, high price is often a sign of a high-quality product.
There are many types of headlights used in cars, but those that provide the best illumination for nighttime driving are called HID headlamps or xenon lamps. HID stands for High Intensity Discharge and these actually use different gases to create their light instead of incandescent filament as traditional bulbs do. These lights have been proven safer for night time driving as they illuminate greater distances than standard halogen bulbs and have less glare which can blind other drivers especially when combined with rain or snow falling on your windshield.
Many people will not consider LED headlights as an upgrade for their Camaro as they are not sure of the LED benefits. LED’s or Light Emitting Diodes emit a brighter light than traditional bulbs but the distance that this light reaches is shorter. Many people feel that this does not make them a good choice for an upgrade bulb, however, when used in daytime running lights or fog lights they can be a great option.
LED daytime running lights are also a good idea to consider when upgrading your Camaro headlights. These are supplemental lights that are designed to help you be seen during the day. They are usually installed in the front grill of the car and will run on the same low voltage as your parking and marker lights.
What color temperature of headlights to choose?
In order to get the best possible illumination on the road, as well as improve the looks of your vehicle, the color temperature of the headlights should also be considered. Generally, warmer temperature bulbs are better for use in fog, but not in the night, while cooler temperature headlights are better in night conditions. For example, 3000K headlights are considered very warm and should only be used for fog lights. 4300K, on the other hand, are considered “natural white” but can still produce warm light in the night and don’t have that cool look on them. If you want the best-looking headlights on your vehicle, then 5000-6000K bulbs are the best option, as they produce white and clear light. 8000K, on the other hand, tend to produce “ice blue” image, which some may prefer.
When it comes to color temperatures, always remember to pick the right one for your needs. Warm temperature headlights are mostly used in foggy conditions, while cooler temperature headlights are better for normal driving conditions. If you’re not sure what to get, then consult with an expert or check your vehicle’s owner’s manual. By following this guide, you can be sure that you’re getting the best possible illumination on the road.
Headlights come in different colors and each has its own benefits and drawbacks associated with it. It is important to select the right type of headlight for your car in order to achieve the best results while driving. In general, 3000K headlights produce a very warm light, 4300K headlights are considered white, while 5000-6000K lights provide the clearest image. 8000K headlights give off an “ice blue” glow, which is why they are used mostly for aesthetic purposes.
The color temperature of your car’s headlight has a huge impact on how well you can see at night and whether or not other motorists will be flashing their high beams at you for blinding them with your bright lights. Lower color temperatures like 3000K produce yellow light that reveals shapes but not details very well; it can also cause glare to enter the eyes of oncoming traffic because the yellow light reflects off rain, snow, and fog in addition to illuminating objects. 6000K, on the other hand, produces much whiter light which reveals details better because it is closer to natural sunlight. However, this type of light can also be blinding to oncoming drivers if you’re not careful.

Light bulbs replacement guide
Chevrolet Camaro headlight bulbs can be easily replaced with new ones. Interestingly, you can replace the driver’s side bulb only using your hands, while you will need a screwdriver for the passenger side in order to remove the air box cover.
Airbox removal (only passenger side):
- Gently pull back the tab and release the second clip
- Slide back the red lock tab
- Disconnect the electrical connector
- Unscrew the hose clamp with a screwdriver and completely remove the top half of the air box
- Remove the engine air filter and plastic air intake tube
- Bulbs are easily accessible now
How to change the bulbs only:
- Remove the dust cap with counterclockwise movement
- Remove the power plug
- Turn the bulb ¼ counterclockwise and remove it from the socket
Important: do this for both of the bulbs if you have a Camaro produced in 2014 and 2015.
